The Agris Mundus Masters course is a two-year training programme of 120 ECTS (European Credits Transfer System) in agricutural development and management of natural resources.
The Agris Mundus Masters course objectives are to train students to cope with the current global/international concerns in agriculture and rural development. Graduates will be qualified to identify and critically analyse key factors shaping the development of crops, forests and animall production, the management of research and rural development projects and finally, the sustainable use of natural resources and the environment. They will be trained to formulate and provide effective and appropriate responses to complex agriculture and natural resources related issues.
ADMISSION CRITERIA & PROCEDURE
Academic admission for the Agris Mundus course and selection for an Agris Mundus scholarship are two different steps that need to be distinguished.
- Academic admission refers to the right to follow the course, after a review of the academic background and professional project of the candidate. Around 70 to 80 candidates may be admitted each year, and around 50 are supposed to actually enter the course.
- Selection for an Agris Mundus scholarship not only needs that the admission above is confirmed, but also that a number of criteria specific to the Erasmus Mundus scholarship system are observed. Around 20 to 30 scholarships are usually offered every year.
SCHOLARSHIP
Erasmus Mundus scholarships are offered for non-European selected candidates to the Agris Mundus course. For each student, the scholarship amounts 21,000 euros per academic year which covers the living costs, transportation costs and subscription fees.
DEADLINE
For candidates from the third countries (other than candidate countries and associated countries), the first round of admission occurs in February each year.
Starting course: August 2009.Therefore, the deadline for applications is January 20, 2009.
